Default 5 doors and a turbo Wagon Build Thread

Been lurking a while now, time to post this project up to get some motivation, questions answered, and constructive criticism.

First of this will not be a OEM build. The car will be purposed for the drag track first, then possibly put on the road for next season.

The background. My first car was a '91 EF hatch, went through some style changes, few paint choices, but settled out pretty basic with a DPFI motor, Si trans, Burnt orange paint, and some bolt on, 2" drop, shorty intake, etc.

5 years ago I picked up a motor. B18A1 boosted and freshly built. It has sat since then in the garage waiting for time and money, and a little more knowledge, before getting to be installed.

I finally started getting all the necessary parts to install it, and in the process picked up a '89, and a '90 Civic Wagon for parts, pieces, etc... both for $400 delivered to my driveway!

One was bone stock and may still become a not so beaten winter beater. The other had a auto -> manual conversion, DPFI -> MPFI conversion, and a B18 swap. After realizing the car wasn't as rough in the body as I originally thought (those plastic rocker covers usually hide more rust, but in this case the rockers were only gone where they didn't cover) and I got to thinking.

Instead of gutting, cutting and beating my hatch, plus the torture launches will put it through (it's got over 400k on it) lets see what kind of potential this wagons got.

I'll give a list of goodies, but all you picture browsers will have to wait until I get a chance to take a few more, and load them up, but I promise pics in the near future.

Motor

Bottom end was done by a local shop, not entirely sure of the extent they went into it, but I know the usual bearings, honing, etc. was done. Supposedly a lot more but i can't say for certain.
JE low compression pistons
Eagle H-Beam rods
Stock B18A head
Cast log manifold
TurboSmart Ultra-Gate Street 38mm Waste gate
Garrett Turbo (still not up on specs, says AR 60 M24 on housing)
Precision 780cc (75 lb/hr) injectors
DSM blow off valve
Junk yard charge piping
No name visible FMIC
Obd0 -> Obd1 jumper
Chipped and tuned PR4
Walbro 255 pump
6 puck clutch
EK short rad
Short shifter

All bolted up to a stock A1 trans.

As it sits right now, Ive got the interior of the car stripped down, pillar cluster installed, body panels pulled for rocker/quarter work, a start on the battery relocation (just need to fab a battery cover), all the washer bottle charcoal canister etc. removed to make room for the charge piping.

Going to get the charge piping routed, FMIC mounted, bumper and cover trimmed, and any thing else I come across next.

Getting to the point where I'm almost ready to pull the car from my place to my parents place to drop the motor in (hoist, cherry picker, etc. beats a cold gravel driveway). Got a new timing belt and water pump already, just for added piece of mind even though the motor was barely run after build, break in and tune.

I want to get the motor in and hooked up before focusing too much on body work and paint. Cant rush the power plant, but when times short, i can make it safe and solid, maybe just not pretty too.

Eventually I'm going to fab a 4 point strut bar for the back, as its a wagon and I think once some slicks make their way under the front, the rear may have a bit of twistyness to it.

Anyway, pics to come, little more focus to the thread when they come as well, I'm a bit of a ranter.

Let me know what you think. Anyone ever seen a boosted wagon? How about one built for the track? Any interest in seeing this, or is this only unique here in Nova Scotia and in my mind alone? (Can't find anymore Civic Wagons for sale on the East Coast of Can. and don't know if I've ever seen any on the road here)

Thanks for reading.
