I purchased an 03 element 2 months ago for my wife and it ran great, until last week! It started with a trouble code for engine coolant temp sensor. I replaced it. Next it would not blow hot air for 20-30 minutes, so I replaced thermostat. Blows good, hot air within minutes. Wife happy again. Then she calls from work and says it wont let her shift out of Park, so I research online and talk her through the bypass process so she can get home. Used zip-tie to keep it disabled until I figure this out! Noticed radiator cap was in bad shape, so I replaced it. Now the problem is the throttle seems to hold around 4k-5k when driving, and CEL is on. Code reads 2227 and the radiator seems to be releasing fluid into the overflow tank, but not allowing it flow back into the radiator?! After reading threads on here and other sites for about 6 hours I am not exactly sure if all this is related or I have suddenly inherited a lemon. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I don't have the money to keep replacing things until I get lucky and fix the right problem.
