Default Boosting and Spraying.......

I drive a boosted 96 Prelude (H22a1). FMAX turbo kit (turbonetics t3/t4, spearco int., tial ext. wastegate, HKS blow-off, 2 440cc injectors, MF2 fuel controller, running 11lbs of boost). I also have forged JE 10:1 .25 over bore and a thick cometic head gasket. My quesion is: would it be safe to spray a 55 shot or more? Has anyone else ran turbo and nitorous? If so,how did it turn out? Will I have to add any other internal parts before adding spray? Thanks.

is your block sleeved? do you have upgraded rods?

if you do have the above....i'd ditch the mf2 and the addtional injectors and go hondata and just turn up the boost, rather than trying to spray.

also i'm curious as to why you lowered your compression with a thick headgasket as opposed to getting je's lower compression pistons?

No, the rods are stock as well the sleeve. As for the head gasket and pistons:
1.) Recommended by FMAX and
2.) Reduce lag.

I've heard quite a bit about hondata. how much does that go for (including the tuning)? how much hp will hondata squeeze out of a boosted car?

thanks for the response.....

well, you're already kinda pushing it with 11lbs of boost. i wouldn't spray on it unless you make sure your bottom can handle it. stock rods + 11lbs of boost + 55shot = disaster. i'd rather build that bottom, get some good pistons, and boost more.

Wait a second... You are running .25 over JE forged pistons inside of a stock sleeved block? Is this car running now or are you waiting to put it together? You do know about the FRM coatings in the H series sleeves, right? Not to be a dick, but I dont see this motor lasting to long... Who may i ask guided you in building this motor?

gude is right about the coating in your cylinder walls. I am saving for a rebuild now for my supercharged engine. ALthough i think NX makes a Kit that you can spray n20 into your intercooler and gain like 30-50whp.

I have a boosted H22A1 with stock bottom. While checking out the possibility of going forged, I was told by everyone that with the H22, that forged pistons and stock sleeves dont work.

i agree you might want to check this out ASAP
yeah NX makes something called the N-cooler or something close to that name. its a direct spray on your IC.

You can't run forged Pistons with the stock sleeves because they are coated with an FRM liner. Check JE's website and there is a warning about this on there. I hope you aren't running around with this setup right now. To answer your question if you do have a sleeved block and Forged Pistons then you should be fine to run 11psi, but I wouldn't add Nitrous to the mix.

We popped our stock motor 'teg on 14lbs and a 40 shot on the dyno.......nitrous backfire grenaded the block/head/everything......
The car loved the boost+nawz on the street, but because making a run takes much longer on the dyno (10 seconds+ a gear) versus on the street (3-4 seconds in a gear) allowed the nitrous to pool up (that's our guess)....
Just run more boost if you want more power, and save the $500ish for the nawz towards a built motor.....

Did you build it right the first time? What happened?

Yes they do, we're running it on my brother's setup (also the F-Max running at 9 pounds on stock internals). Still using the MF2 and additional injectors because it's street driven alot and using gallons of gas isn't quite economical right now. The NX kit helps a lot at the track, dropping him from a 13.3 to a 12.5
