Hey guys, so here is my deal:
95 civic
D16Z6
new gaskets, and piston rings
this thing turns over but wont start. the distributor is fine, did the check. its getting gas and spark, checked that too. the compression on 1, and 4 however are low...don't know why, like 70-90 low... 3 is at 150 and 2 is around 120. i don't know what i am missing...again has gas, air, spark and...we low compression...what can i do? i have been struggling with this for about 3 weeks now checking EVERYWHERE!!! i find little things but never the same as what i have so it doesn't help...PLEASE HELP!!

First double check your timing. If timing is good put a little bit of oil in the cylinder and try the compression test again. This is called a wet compression test. If your compression numbers rise to roughly where they should be then you have bad rings. If your numbers still stay low do a leak down test. Put the cylinder at top dead center on the compression stroke. Hook up the leak down tester and listen to where the leak in coming from. If you hear the air in the exhaust...exhaust valve. Throttle body...intake valve. From the radiator...head gasket.

oh and timing was spot on
ok the final result:
timing: 180 off...im dumb...
electrical: there was a ground wire that screws to the thermostat housing that was disconnected.
moral of situation, check all GROUND cables and double and triple check timing...
Thanks for all the help onepoint_gsr
