you shouldn't be paying more the 150 for a z6 head. GUDE ? sounds like a run of the mill e-bay brand i'd avoid it all toghter. I Read the OP be seriously you'll be dissapointed with the amount of money you put in/spend vs the actual gain you'll see just my .02

GUDE is not an ebay brand, they use to be popular for d-series a long long time ago, haven't seen people run their stuff in ages though, not even sure if they still offer those head packages. Your best bet would be to look around for a used built d-series head on here, d-series.org and onecamonly. Yes for the money you can get more but it's not always about logic or hp per money that's why people still build b16 and n/a setups too. I ran a low budget d16z6 with a zex 59300 cam, 0.060'' mill, not tuned (only ajustable FPR) and ran consistant 9.5 on the 1/8th mile, no portjob or anything, pretty fun motor.

Havent heard that name for a LONG time... Bill is still around doing work? i didn't know anyone even used his stuff anymore. It was good a long time ago but nowadays there are a lot better options.

i ran his stuff years ago. Is he still in Elsinore? If you get a really good deal on stuff then i'd consider running it. if not then there are a lot of other options.

Good luck with the build.

yeah the old mans still around just slowly fading out. yes hes still in elsinore his sons taking over....and alot better options are kinda hard to find on a small budget, and being a d15. My local machine shop wants 800 for the head work. on top of buying the head (ebays cheapest 180 bare) and god knows where it came from or what shape its in. then cam throttle body computer valves, which all come in the package for 1200.

for those prices you can pick up a decent B18C1(aware you don't seem keen on a swap but still)
