Thats because its geared for mpg's, not to be fast...

First, welcome to Honda-Tech and 'grats on owning a Del Sol.

Second, the intent of this site is not to encourage and / or condone reckless or immature driving on public streets. Some might. I certainly don't (not that you care I'm sure).

Third, a swap will only add power equivalent to the difference in power between the two engines. Look up the power ratings.

It sounds like you're jumping the gun. Spend a few months reading and generating your own opinion on various swaps, builds, and induction methods. Save your money. Then attack your car with a solid build plan and adequate funding.

Check the FAQ's sticky. There's a HUGE section called "How do I make it faster?" It'll answer your question perfectly.

A naturally aspirated 1.5 sohc wont ever produce the amount of torque to need anything other than oem. No reason at all to go above a stage 1 even, as most stage 1's tq capacity is around 220wtq. Hope your werent mentioning a "good" clutch like it will make the car faster....
