Icon2 Dysfunctional Radiator Fan

Okay so when I bought the car a couple months ago the guy said the coolant gauge doesn't work, and he's right, it doesn't. I did the test where I jumped the wire harness under the hood by the thermostat (?) right under the distributor, and went and turned the ignition to ON and the needle started moving, so I know it isn't the gauge. (By the way, the reason why I did this was to troubleshoot the non-working gauge, using information found here on H-T.) So a couple weeks back I was unsure if my radiator fan was coming on, so I drove around for a while, then let the car sit for about 5 minutes idling and the fan didn't come on. After several more trials since then, I have confirmed that the radiator fan does NOT turn on ever. The reason why the car hasn't exploded yet is because when I'm driving around in this midwestern winter weather, there is a constant flow of very cold air through the radiator. However, it would be nice to know that the fan works when it's hot, so I'm asking what I should do. To recap, here's what I know:

1. The gauge is functional, but doesn't display any information (needle doesn't move when it should).
2. The radiator fan does not turn on ever.

Is there some kind of connection between these two things? I've been looking around here on H-T and I can't seem to find anything specific enough. I mean, there is an overload of options, but I think I can narrow it down with the fact that the gauge isn't working.

Thanks H-T.

Well we can start off by testing to see if the fan works at all. Disconnect the plug from the radiator fan, under the overflow jug. Jump it directly to the battery. If the fan kicks on, the motor is good. Plug it back in and move on. Next, test the radiator fan switch located at the end of the lower radiator hose (thermostat housing). Unplug the connector, turn the key to the on (II) position, and jump the connector with a paper clip. If the fan runs again, the motor and relay are good. So the issue could be the Radiator fan switch itself.

Just went through all this trouble myself. Lots of info on my thread of which I had a great amount of help from the great guys here at HT. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/98-civic-ex-cooling-fan-doesnt-come-3124882/

Went through it exactly,if you run a jumper straight to the battery and it turns on, its most likely the fan relay in the fuse box.

Okay so I jumped the fan relay with a wire and it turned on when I turned the ignition ON, but I still am having trouble figuring out why the gauge isn't working. What exactly do I need to replace? Thanks.
