Default Gauges in the S-Type

It's funny how life can thwart you in even the simplest of tasks. So my friend and I are attempting to install two cobalt gauges. The pillar is fine, the gauges look beautiful and everything is cool. The problem? Even though we've spliced into perfectly viable grounds and power lines, we've got no juice.

If anyone has installed gauges (autometer, btw) in their car, where did you hookup the power and the ground? thanks in advance, fellas.

If you want a solid power+, and a solid ground-, go to the fuse box under the driver side dash for the power. Then go to the chassis for the ground, or the neg- on the battery. If you dont want to run it through the firewall then do it this way. Hope this helps.

If you need a hole in the firewall, there's one behind the glove box.

OK - First get a voltmeter. Measure the power at your "good" power to your "good" ground. Got 12 volts? If no there's your problem.

Step 2 - get a 12volt power supply from Radio Shack and hook your gauge to it in the house. Does it work? If no then there's your problem.

Step 3 - Don't become a rocket scientist quite yet.

you crack me up. if I needed smartass comments, I would've addressed that in the thread title. we found out what the problem was: shitty 3M wiretaps that weren't actually connecting the wires. the cobalt lighting thing still isn't working, but we'll be troubleshooting that another time.

anybody ever tapped the fuel system of the RSX-S? it's required to install the fuel pressure gauge.

I've tapped the fuel line for my NX wet kit. Take the i-VTEC plastic cover off the im, and you'll see the fuel rail. Follow it down, and by the firewall there should be enough slack in the line for you to tap into it.
