Hello all! I drive a 1996 Honda Civic LX Sedan with the 1.6L engine.

I am having some trouble with my dome light turning on when i open the doors. I can open any door in the car and the light wont turn on but when i flip the switch it does turn on.

I have made sure that the switch is selected to where the light should turn on when the doors open. I think the switch may be bad?

I don't know if this means anything either but when i open my trunk the trunk light works just fine.

Aftermarket radio?

 

Yes i had an aftermarket radio installed professionally.

They told me that they did not hook up the illumination wires when they put the radio in, but i have been suspicious of this.

 

The illumination wire has noting to do with it. You have to jumper one of the green plugs under the dash to restore this function you lost when you removed the stock deck. There are a set of green/red wires.

 

I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with the term jumper? I'm not the best when it comes to the electrical stuff so any help/explanation will take me a long way
