Default Civic rust treatment

I just ordered new rear quarters and rocker panels, planning to weld them on. Once I cut out the old ones though, looking at other peoples work, they spray stuff like POR15 on the metal after welding and grinding any rust. Does anyone know a legit place to get this stuff in Canada Ontario? Or am I better off getting something else?. I saw POR15 on amazon for 120$, is this right??

Any rust killer or etch primer will do. I'm my old euro r when I cut rust out the boot I sprayed it with CRC Zinc-It which is just a metal sealer. Then painted normal over it

POR15 is actually to Paint Over Rust. As long as you remove the rust completely, you're good to get some good primer on ther and get it sealed up so it doesn't start to rust again.

PrimerSEALER is what you want. Primer -is porous it soaks in anything over it. PRIMER SEALER seals top surface the below surface. so look for "primer sealer"

POR 15 wlll not stick long to bare shiny metal. It will peel off of clean metals in a year. It will stick and never come off of rough and or rusty metal, you can't even chip it off of rusty stuff.

when using por 15, YOU MUST use gloves, goggles, and a old crappy throw away long sleeve shirt, etc. It will not even come off with gas, choke cleaner, paint thinner etc.. It is on to stay. I used a older sweatshirt, and decided not to throw it away. It looks like a spotted cow even after 6 more years of washes. it is never coming off.
