hi, i am sorry to ask this stupid question, but i do not think I am going anywhere in these few days

I have a 2000 Em1, which starts and idles perfectly, but when between shift, rpm sometimes does not drop, when you push the clutch pedal, rpm once even goes up to 5000 without giving gas, I have cleaned the throttle body and spring, changed a new IACV, does not make any differences, do you think this maybe a bad TPS?
oh, and when the rpm is high, when you push the gas pedal suddenly, it can drop back to normal idle when you release after, like kind of clog somewhere

please help me, and seems I did not find any similar situation in this forum

A dirty/clogged air filter can cause that.

 

honestly, I just changed a new filter like a month ago

 

Sounds more like a bad or sticking throttle cable. I know this sound silly but check to make sure your floor mat isn't getting stuck under the pedal as well.

thank you guys for your input, but the cable or valve came back fine (to its original closed position) when you have not started your car, once you start the car however, it sometimes won't bounce back, and there is nothing stuck the pedal either

Could be a weak or broken return spring, the valve would close no problem when engine turned off, but with engine running the air passing through the TB, could keep it open and RPMs would go up as soon as you step on the clutch. 94

yeah, it turns out the return spring is a little too soft, replaced another one and the high rpm is gone, gas pedal is stiffer as well. thank you guys!
