Default 98 Civic DX - B16a3 Swap Issues

Okay HT,

I've searched and searched and didnt find the answers I needed
So heres the situation..
I have a 98 civic DX(d16y7) and I swapped it with a b16a3...
I was told to use a EX harness for the swap but i ran into
some complications -.- .......it seems I have to extend some
wires to plug onto the engine...........which is such a hassle when
it comes to wiring for me.
My questions are, could I just use a 99 Civic SI harness with a obd2b to obd1 conversion harness?
Would it run?
Would I have to do any wire extending?

also i will be running a p28 ecu.

Extending the wires isn't a big issue at all. Just keep the colors matched. It'll save yourself a small amount of time by not switching harnesses and as long as you have no inspections the obd2b to obd1 would work. Are you chipping the p28?

I decided to just stick with the ex harness. and yes i will be chipping my ecu.

so far i see that the vtec plugs on the ex needs to be extended.
KS plug and that skinny pin like plug under the ks.

what do you recommend on a chip
my set up is basically stock with aftermarket intake and 2.5" catback.
nothing too spiffy as my town is full of hate crimes and thieves.

Call Xenocron, tell them what you have, and have them cut you a basemap.
