94' ex auto-starting issues
Just got 94' civic auto. The cars been sitting for a couple months. Owner tells me that a mechanic tells her it's the starter. So we jump the car and tap the starter and starts like a champ. Shut off and starts again. So decide to buy a new starter. Change it out and the car still won't. So decide just grab a new battery since the car was sitting for awhile. So brand new battery and starter and all I get is a click. Any idea or help I need to get the car out of the place it's at ASAP. Thanks
Is the battery being drained? Is the fuel pump priming? Does the main relay click and the CEL goes off? How are the spark plug wires/spark plugs/distributor? If you plan on using the car, just change the spark plugs, wires and dizzy cap to eliminate it being a no-spark problem. Once that's out of the way, it'd have to be a parasitic drain from the battery, a poor ground (clean the grounds with a wire brush), other wiring, fuses/relay and/or ECU problem.
