I currently have a 4-2-1 Header, Test Pipe, 2.25 Catback w/Ebay Resonator, and Apexi Ws2 Straight Through Muffler.
I plan on keeping the 2.25 catback and just run a stock eg muffler with an e-cutout. Would it sound close to stock?
Hoping for this sound.

I would personally start with adding the cat back in. Without the cat, many 4 cylinders tend to sound more "tinny". What length of resonator do you have installed on the car? A longer resonator will help, but it may not be necessary if running a cat along with your planned change to the EG muffler.
My newly purchased EM1 had the rear muffler removed and replaced with a DC Sports tip. It would drone at highway speeds causing headaches. I installed the full WS2 kit this weekend, and the exhaust is quieter than the wind noise at highway speeds.

No, a cat will do very little for the sound. I tried only to cut it out and replace with a 24" Dynomax bullet resonator. A resonator will make the biggest difference.
The stock muffler is a bad idea because it will restrict all the flow that the 2.25" piping provided. Basically it will be bottlenecked onto the muffler taking away any performance gains. I have a yonkaka WS-II rep exhaust that I picked up for under 300. With the added resonator, I can't hear the exhaust at idle and it has great sound when I get into the throttle. I will be adding a e-cut out myself once I boost my GSR motor.

Which would affect sound the most: Resonator or a stock 1.75" eg/ej muffler?

I have stock exhaust (4-2-1 stock header/manifold), stock cat, aftermarket resonator (stock one was rusted out) that's 26" long and 2 1/4". Now someone stole my stock muffler about two months ago so i have been driving around with no muffler. It sounds good. Had a few friends tell me that it sounded good, not like a ricer. So a resonator is defiantly one way to go. But a muffler with enough baffles is going to be quiet. Remember though cut noise is built back pressure.
