h2b vs b18c
Hey guys I was wondering what you think is the more reliable engine for a DD I plan on swapping one of these motors into my 93 del sol in the next couple of months. I plan on trying to get around 350-400hp out of my build and still have it not **** the bed. I also would like to know how much a h2b swap would cost due to there being added things needed to swap the h2b into my car.
Thanks,
Ben

yeah thats what I meant. I was planing on turbocharging it. I'm just trying to figure out if the h2b is reliable because I hear a lot of good and bad things about it.

It is a Honda motor so it is reliable!!! H motors should be re-sleeved due to the coating on the piston walls. You should spend a little time in the hybrid section because all you questions are answered in there.
I have an H22 swapped into my '92 CX. If your looking to go turbo its gonna be more cost effective to go with a B series. More swap parts. Super easy to go FI and like speedjunkie_g35 said, any H series will need to be re-sleveed to go boosted.
B18B is "made" for turbo, so to speak. Low compression, tall gearing, and typical Honda build excellence. That they are so cheap is a bonus. You just need to strengthen a few things and you'll be safe with a turbo that makes quite excessive amounts of power.

The F20b block is the h22 block minus atts on the newer ludes. I don't know much about the h2b swap but I wouldn't see why the f20b wouldn't work instead of an h22. IMO f20b will hold up better then h22 of your going to boost.
...will leave him with half of his power goal.
OP: the B18 will leave more room and money for a turbo build. reliability will hinge largely on the quality of the parts used and the skill of the builder and tuner. do it right and you shouldn't have anything to worry about with a turbo B. you'll also have a less complicated set up compared to a turbo H2B. (i'm assuming turbo for both because of your stated power goals.)
