Default B20Vtec Legal on a CR-V?

Pardon the noob question, but are B20Vtec's Legal on a CR-V in california? I know they're not legal on cars such as integras and civics since the B20 is off of an SUV (CR-V), but does the same rule apply to CR-Vs since it needs a GS-R Head? I just got my car smogged so technically i'm good for another two years haha, but just curious =P
