97 Civic transmission mount - Need size of three bolts
1997 LX Sedan
Does anyone happen to know the size/pitch of the 3 bolts that go into the top of the trans mount? The mount that is on top and can be seen by looking down and to the left of the lower rad hose. I just picked this car up 3 days ago and while going over it yesterday i noticed its missing all of the bolts for the mount, like they forgot to put them back in...i dont know how that could forget the vibration is pretty bad. But anyways, if someone could get me that info i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I know there is a fine line while talking about this. I have a Hanes manual for my civic, what type of manual do you prefer?
And you can get the exact length from on online catalog from an online OEM Honda Parts dealer. I have found it difficult to find automotive grade strength (I forget all the ratings, but you need to be safe here, don't skimp) bolts at my local hardware store in the metric sizes, so I just buy them online from Honda.

Then there's Chilton, which seems to borrow pics from the Helms. So, it's like an abbreviated version. I sometimes use it if I have done the same process multiple times, and I make notes in it. But for many many things, nothing beats the Helms. Especially diagrams.
i know old thread, and hopefully someone see's this reply before trying to reply to the OP. Anywho, the studs that go into the trans, the metrics(thread pitch/diameter/length) for the studs is not in the manual. Anyone know the size of the studs off hand???
there was this noise coming from the right hand/front side of the car intermittently.. went through everything. then i was like wait.. there is something missing here. oh. yeah. BOTH of those studs...(not my doing, twas previous owner)

yeah i know it, that might be the only option aside from a caliper and then whatever fine thread pitch would match(or wait! i have a friend with an amazing tap/die set and those neat thread finder deals).
guess i'll check on price, but i live in a pretty industrial city, there are a few places where one can find any nut/bolt in any spec(say 8.8) for a penny.(kinda have a hunch honda wants a mint for it, we'll see)

yep, they mentioned that they'd want my unborn child. i said maybe if they'd do a limited run on some carbon S2000's... seriously though, $25 was what they wanted. $12 a piece though, better be titanium at that point. grade 10.9 bolt for the size required is like $1-2 a piece aftermarket.
stud size is 12(dia) x 40mm(length) and i'm going to guess 1.25 thread pitch. elsewhere on the car m12x1.25 is being used so without actually checking for sure its my hunch.
hhoorraay.

honda of stores??
Anyone know where I can get the stud and nuts to put In the the transmission bracket or a replacement for them, I’m currently swapping trans auto d16y8

Hey, got a basic or even rare question about our cars? First stop should be the car bible (=service manual). So often overlooked.
