interior light wont turn on with doors open. it will turn on with the switched on though. whats the deal?

 

Do you have your factory radio still?
If not, that's your problem, as the circuit for the light is run through the factory radio (as is the keyless entry)
You'll have to install something aftermarket to make use of it (or get a tap light)

 

What car?

 

open the door n move the switch to off n slowly to on.. see if that works. mine was doing the same n had to do what I said n it works fine now. she's just picky

it does have a sony deck in it. tried the switch idea but didnt work. also car is a 98 civic hx coupe 5spd

 

This^...if you have power locks.

The fix is to jump two wire terminals in the unplugged keyless connector behind the radio. A search will tell you which specific wire terminals to jump.

 

ok so i took my sony deck out and plugged in the "2" plugs including the green one and the interior light came on. so i know its the green plug but which 2 terminals do i jump? thx again for the help guys.

Don't cut them or expose any wire. Just use a paperclip to jumper the connector.

 

i was just gonna use these little wire tap things i got that way nothing can fall out.

 

I used a paperclip. bent it. Inserted it into the plug at the proper pinouts. And just used a strip of electrical tape to cover it.
