Icon2 P1768 code

Has anyone gotten this code or had their speedometer stop working from bad wiring in the engine wiring harness? I have replaced the speedometer and linear solenoid sensors as well as the ecu with no result. The wiring harness would be the next logical step, right?

Car information?

They're probably completely separate problems.

Any other CEL codes?

Other problems?

Its a 96 civic ex with an AT transmission. It is not shifting until 4k plus rpm and then shifts real hard. I got a P0700 as well.

I had that code! But my car wouldnt shift gears at all...it was a fuse issue for me, it was something like vss/speed sensor..something like that, hope its just a fuse issue also, and theres a selenoid inside the tranny as well, did you check that?

All my fuses are good, I did have an open wire on the connector of the linear solenoid but it didn't change anything except for the check engine code going off after I fixed it (it didn't stop the hard shifting). I bought the car from a girl who never once changed the transmission fluid in 155k miles so I'm going to flush the lines and see if that helps. I remember changing the fluid on the old tranny when I bought the car and when it came out it looked like the kind of mud that catfish sleep on at the bottom of a lake :/ So that may very well be an issue. I'll post it on here if its important.

Hmmm...well thats also good to check, mine was like that as well lol, after i fixed the fuse, i put new tranny fluid in just as a precaution. Do that and let us know what happens after that.

I believe my throttle position sensor was causing the hard shifting and a bad idle.

Same thing with my acura EL 2000.. the alternator 7.5amp fuse inside the car triggered the P1768 transmission Code which is very odd..... it was starting getting me nuts with the speedometer needle bouncing and jumping around, hard shifting when parked and accelerating in 4th gear from stop with a blinking D4 light...
