idle problem

Default idle problem

i just recently picked up a 96 gsr and today the idle started to jump from 800 to 1500 rpm. Any thoughts on whats going on? help plz

any cel? clean your iacv and fitv. might be a bad fuel filter as well. i just put a new one in my car and it idles good now but it never jumped to 1500rpms. mine was bogging and had a low idle.

nope, no cel in on. Also, sometimes it even stop jumping idle when im at a red and start again.

yeah try changing out your fuel filter. i had an issue where my gsr would bog when driving and at idle it will bog then the car dies. i didnt have any cel's either which made me think that it was the fuel filter. cause anything else would throw a code like tps and map sensors. but clean your iacv and fitv. it helps a lot with idle issues and makes the car breathe better.

IACV malfunction, vacuum leak, and bubbles in coolant are the most common causes of a fluctuating idle. Clean the IACV, bleed the coolant, and check for vacuum leaks, in that order.

Most likely to be your fuel filter had same problem with my 94 teggy.

I change my fuel filter and it fixed the idle problem. thanks for the diagnostics guys
