y80 transmission shifting problem
ok so recently i was on the freeway and a pallet came off a truck in front of me and i had no choice but to hit it. it didnt cause any damage or so i thought until i got home and had oil dripping from my transmission casing. so i had no choice since there was a chunk missing to change out the casing. so i picked one up and attempted to do it myself. the job is done and now it is hard to shift into first. which was never a problem before. once i get it in and the car drives all the other gears work and shift smooth, no grinds or nothing. i filled it with Honda MTF it took a little bit more than 2 quarts.
i was told maybe i just need to drive it and let everything set....
im at a loss here guys i have never done a trans job before but i just transferred everything over so i wouldnt think there would be a problem.
any help would be appreciated.

You should have stopped the truck that dropped the pallet and had his insurance pay for the damage.
Did you inspect the shift "linkage"... http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...ystemcomp=List All&vinnoT=&trim=&trans=&view=normal for damage, [bent], both the change rod and change extention are exposed under the car and may have been hit by the pallet also. 94
