Default shift linkage problem

im having trouble removing the spring pin to take off the shift linkage. ive tryed a 8mm tap already for a while but the pin wont budge. do you think drilling it out would be a good solution? seeing as how it has to be replaced anyways.

A friend of mine had the same problem. We took an air chisel(sp?) and it loosened it up, then we used a deep socket and knocked it out the rest of the way.

Just use the 8mm punch or 5/16 just keep hitting hard and it will come out also maybe trying spraying some lubricant in there I just did this today and just kept hitting it let me know how it goes
