Best route for 250-300 hp on a civic or del sol?
Like the title states I am currently looking for a nice buy on a civic or del sol to fix up with the ultimate goal of getting it anywhere between 250-300hp. So my questions are which would be better to use a civic coupe 4dr or hatch or a del sol and whats going to be the best route to take in getting the desired hp estimate cost after getting the car? Thanks for the help.
pick your chassis, and go full bottom end build up, turbo, and a really good tune....
actually...one thing you may want to try to get is a pre-96 Honda. OBD-I (or OBD-0) is chippable and tunable.
Or if you go with an engine swap and want OBD-II, a K-series swap with its respective OBD-II ECU will work as well because you can tune the K-series ECU (Using the Hondata Products)

Okay would 250-300 hp be realistic with a b16 with no problem, and is that with all things i would need for the swap or just the motor and tranny

It all depends on where you buy your swap. I wouldn't touch a b16 when you can get a b18.
You need to spend a little reading other people's builds with similar goals and copy their build.

Well i am set on trying to find a 95-00 hatchback but right now where i live there is nothing less than 2 hours away so it will for sure be a hatch or sol when i can find one. Then just finding the best swap and mods from there.
It's really what you like the best. Hatches have less weight to them so that's always a favorite, Coupe(what i have) in my opinion looks good all around. I think hatches look weird. A sedan then would have the most weight too it because of the doors.
I would go with a rebuilt B18 then turbocharge it and tune the ECU with a hondata. (a tune is a MUST)
But make sure you like what you are getting and do research before buying.

A mildly built D series (Eagle/Vitara) or a stock B series will make that kind of power. The best overall mix of cost vs power is an LS or LS/VTEC swap IMO. The best suggestion any of us can give you is this: Do your homework and pick the setup that fits your goals and budget the best. Everyone has preferences as to what they would do, but until you sit down and figure out the Pros and Cons, you're reliant on other people to make your decision for you. Check out the Forced Induction FAQ...it will shed some light on your options
