Haven't welded up a 10 point cage in a quite a while,anyone got some pics of the new floor bar under the roll bar I have an idea of how it goes,but is there a certain way it goes to meet the rules..

 

Dont quote me on it but from my understanding it is not supposed to be welded to the main hoop and should not be bent.It should be either welded in front or behind the main hoop.

 

Here ya go I just finished mine the lower bar has to tie into the rockers not the hoop and your short down tubes tie into the rocker bar

 

Thats EXACTLY how I did mine. Doesnt say it cant be bent in the rules. But does say cant tie into main hoop.

I honestly dont see a way you could go about not bending it, unless you cut a hole in the tunnel. But then Im sure you wouldnt fit some classes, as the floor cant be modified, kinda thing.

 

It can tie to main hoop, but then the d-bars need to go to tunnel walls with plates, not the cross bar like above.

 

I was told it wasn't supposed to tie into the hoop and that the d bars go onto the floor bar. He also said it wasn't necessary but it was a better option not to bend the floor bar assuming you could install it that way. This is from the nhra directly but he also said it depends on who is creating the car

 

best thing to do is ask your local nhra cage cert guy. everyone has a different opinion on it. i had mine going from main hoop to main hoop and it was totally fine.

does that floor bar go behind the main hoop or in front? the teg it's welded behind, i've seen some welded infront.

Off topic, but is your windshield going to clear? Maybe it's just the camera angle. And to above post, the main hoop is behind the floor bar, which You probably don't want to put the floor bar behind, pushing the main hoop foward.
