Default RTV/Hondabond question.

I want to get a little bit better seal on some gaskets and i dont know what kind of rtv or hondabond to use?. I'll be doing a downpipe gasket, valve cover, cam seals and other stuff in those area's to stop leaks. What product would be best for my job?

Thanks.

Hondabond for everything but the downpipe. Use it sparingly! If you use too much you'll just end up with a mess and leaks. Put the hondabond on the end of your finger and spread a thin coat on what you want to seal. As far as the valve cover goes you just want a little where it goes over the cams on the ends.

For the downpipe high temp RTV or muffler cement.

i cringe whenever i see people slathering hondabond all over a new gasket and installing.

also, cam seals do not require sealant.
