rod bearings, main bearings... depending on what all you are doing, and why you are rebuilding it other things factor in as well. reconditioning rods/pistons, checking the crank... making sure clearances are all fine - cyl. walls are in ok shape.

why are you rebuilding?

ditto

you might get new valve springs & retainers if you want to rev a lil higher when you take apart the head

depending upon how many miles are on the car, get new hoses all around.

it all depends upon whats wrong and your budget

thanks fellas........ well the reason im asking is so i can get myself ready. Not becos my car engine has problems now but because i know it will in the forseeable future. So there seems to be quite abit involved? and alot $$..... damn!

also what has got me nervous is that my friend just fu$ck'd up his R motor at a trackday last Sat. His engine dide on him while taking a fast corner. After being towed back to the pits he found there was coolant comming out of his intake pipe/filter. SO it looks like he needs a rebuild or even a new block. His is not the 1st also...... theres been numerous cases here of DC2'Rs blowing their motors.

it really depends upon what you are going to do

chirs n this baord just did a light rebuild on his engine

he mainly just did
new ctr pistons with rings (250ish) OS
new bearings 250ish
machine work can be done from 300-600 depending upon the area you live in
pretty much a lil over a grand, and you have a fresh motor, that is better balanced and a lil higher cr for some more mid range tq and hp (not much though)

if you want reliabilty

get an accusump oil system and mugen or spoon baffled oil pan
