rpm goes up but not speed in 3rd and 4th gear

Icon2 rpm goes up but not speed in 3rd and 4th gear

so i'm new to this site..and i need some help finding out what the problem is on my transmission....first of all i have a 2000 civic ex with a D16z6 motor and trans...well when i was pulling out of a stop light my 1st gear was going good and so was my 2nd gear but when i shift to 3rd i pressed the gas then my rpm was going up but my speed wasnt moving too much and then i shift to 4th gear and it did the same my rpm went up high but my speed was going up very slowly...it felt like my car wasnt moving but sounded like it was going fast because my rpm was high...can anyone help me with this? whats wrong?? thanks..

Sounds like your clutch is slipping.

Install a new clutch, and you should be good to go.
