Default Oxygen Sensor Code issue

1st time user to Honda Tech, thanks for helping. 1990 CRX SI stock Code 1 on check engine light. Replaced O2 sensor, noticed wire was broken going to connector that attaches to O2 sensor. Crimped connector to both ends, thus reconnecting the wire. Removed computer code (detached battery for 30 secs) and Car still throws Code 1. Engine not getting good power, like needing air, recent timing done and is right on, new plugs, wires, ICM, ignition coil, cap, rotor. Any ideas why code is still being thrown? Not a technician, just a 19 year owner of this vehicle.

Test continuity through the wire the might be another bad spot or a bad crimp

The sensor can also be tripped by lean/rich conditions. If the sensor has been tested to be working fine, check that any vacuum lines aren't cracked (particularly to the fuel map sensor) and that your sparkplugs/leads are decent.

any exhaust leak near the sensor will also trip it. removing the battery for 30 secs usually doesnt reset the ecu codes at least not on my cars
