Default Help! OBD2 auto in Integra OBD1 ecu/tcm car!

My car shifts through the gears but doesn't like downshifts (unless I'm coming to a stop), fast take offs, lacks power, and idles low at times and likes to sputter, and the only code is a tcm code 14 (fas wire/IGM-FI). Can all this be because of the OBD2 auto that was installed in my obd1 car?

Oh btw my car is a 97 Civic LX with a B20b with p8r head and an Integra LS OBD2 automatic, with a rywire obd2 to obd1 jumper harness, with an obd1 P75 ecu and matching TCM (thank you hmotorsonline I asked for a 94/95 Integra LS auto ).

Can I fix this problem? Possibly with just some OBD1 sensors swapped in or is it more difficult than that?

Thanks,
Jason

Well the obd1 trans uses throttle position via a cable going to the throttle body that lets it know when to shift, obd2 trans doesn't have that, it has 2 extra solenoids instead, your harness/tcm doesn't have those plugs. I went thru the same problem, aggravated me so much i took it out and swapped to 5-spd

Problem=Solved. Autos are nothing but trouble.

Nice thought but my car will be staying auto...I guess hmotorsonline will be working something out with me on getting the right tranny or sensors if those can be swapped over successfully.

mmhh now that's tempting. Who sales this transmission? Also would I use my stock ecu or the Integra? I wish I had known this much before I started the swap because the most help I could get from this place was "convert to 5-speed" which was out of the question for me for spouse reasons mostly and personal preference.

what year is the civic? i think you can have to stock civic ecu chipped to run it, or leave the integra ecu and tcm it wont hurt it....did you have to wire in the 10 extra wires on the rywire harness like i had to?? 4 from shifter and 6 went to the engine bay

this is the trans you need ebay.com what ever one you get make sure the trans code is M24A its the only one that will fit and work, it is supposed to be smaller then usdm auto integra trans so it wont hit the frame and you can use the trans mount

I am curious how you think that? It wasn't their fault you ordered the wrong tranny.

Hmotors is a great company but I don't see them doing anything.

No I specifically asked for a 94/95 Integra LS tranny reread my post because a 94/95 transmission is an obd1 and if you read my post that's exactly what I asked them for.

They may be a good company but my experience has been less than good thus far. One my auto did not come with a flex plate so I had to spend an extra $156 for it and the washer. I had some other minor issues that had to be taken care of by the installer (Trackmasters) but I don't have the specifics but I can say it was something to do with a cut harness and a mount but I'm not sure how guaranteed those items are anyways so I didn't exactly hold that against them.

94+ auto b18 trans are sadly the same they didnt change anything between them even the tcms are the same, only changes were to the ecu and engines...these swaps are a pain because of the cutting and splicing and that you have to doo and change the mount on the frame...its a good swap but people are just too lazy to do it because they think 5 speed is easier to swap but i <3 my auto b18

I may be wrong but doesn't the obd1 auto have a different shift solenoid than the obd2 auto and if that's the case it's going to prove costly just to swap sensors around.

I'm really regretting not realizing I could do a JDM b16 auto . Will it fit on the same mounts as the Integra LS auto or do I need different ones?

im not positive about the mounts...i think they would be the same but any auto b18 trans from 94+ is the same, all sensors and solenoids are the same too

i hope this helps some. and my civic shifts the same way yours does

Are you sure of this? I was under the impression that 94/95 auto's were obd1 and had different sensors and solenoids than the 96+ which were obd2. If so I'm lost as to what my problem may be.

yeah they are the same, you could try adjusting the downshift cable...other then that have no other ideas

Right now I'm fairly lost on ideas. I see where the downshift cable goes from the throttle body to the auto and I'm really starting to think it's all in the throttle body region possibly the IACV. I'm it's the IACV because it came lose the other night because a bolt I failed to tighten fell out and when it did the car suddenly had lots more power but of course the rpm's surged.

I also got an ECU code 1 for PCM the other day along with the TCM code 14 so I'm not ruling out an ECU or TCM issue. I sure wish I had access to a good test ECU and TCM from a 95 Integra auto.

the ecu code 1 is for the oxygen sensor, if thats bad then that could be whats causing it feel slow.
but deffinatly get the iacv hooked back up too

and the only code 14i found is for iacv

Code 14 is a TCM code it is says something about "fas wire" and I've seen pgmfi mentioned also.

I may be mistaken but for OBD1 Integra I've seen ecu code 1 referenced as PCM.

Ok I went back and checked a code sheet and it says ECU code 0 so I misread it as the ECU was 1 because it was the first.

My engine light flashed once then it would take a few seconds and flash again. I'm just curious how you get a code 0 though? Do you get an engine light but no flashing? I haven't seen the code one since that night but my car is still running like garbage and even more so than before for some reason.

i think you should start with the oxygen sensor and see if it feels any better afterwards
