Icon2 d16y8 motor has a misfire but dont know whats causing it

hello,

i have a d16y8 in a 97 honda civic,

yesterday, i changed my valve cover gasket and grummets on my valve cover,
after i finished replacing those, my motor started running funny.

my check engine light started to blink, then i ran the check engine light code

it read it has a misfire in cylinder 3.

after that i checked for compression, spark, and fuel.
im getting all of that.

drove it around the block and it gives somewhat the same potential as it did before but it still runs a little rough, not bad as like a bent valve but a little rough. (like cylinder 3 is misfiring)

checked timing, and its on point. timing didn't jump or anything so i know its not timing.

so i ran the check engine light again, and it said misfire in cylinder 1, 3 & 4 and it said random mutiple misfire.

btw, i've changed spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and it still said misfire in cylinder 3 and the check engine light still flashes.

after that i turned the car on, and pulled the wires out to see if it will change and the motor didn't change when i pulled cylinder 3 wire out.

now i have compression in cylinder 3, fuel, and spark.

before you tell me to check the valve cover grumets again, i did.
no oil is getting into the spark plug slots.

is there something else that im suposed to check?

ive never had this problem before.

if you've had this problem before please lmk

thank you

is the spark plug wire seating fully onto the plug?

Its a long shot but I always question my plug wires when I push them on since it never feels like they are on the plug snuggly.

Did you disconnect any grounds during the procedure? How is the distributor end of #3 wire seating? Did you check the gap on the plugs or maybe inadvertently close the #3 gap? Open the distributor cap again and make sure all is well in there.
Also, now it sounds intermittent. Check all the wires/connections/grounds around the valve cover, particularly the ones that feed the distributor. I've had intermittent connections because the copper wire broke inside the insulation. This will usually happen right near the connector.
Don't get tunnel vision on the spark plug wires.

Does the engine run very rough? If so, check whether you swapped two of the spak plug wires on the distributor cap.
