Oil light blinking
My oil light just started blinking today. I've had this 91 accord dx for a little over a month now.not sure exactly how many miles is on it since the speedometer doesnt work and the odometer barely works. Its at almost 196, 000 miles. The oil light never started blinking before today. I checked the oil and its good. Just did an oil change a few weeks ago. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong. And if you can explain in lamens terms as I don't know much about cars or the lingo I would really appreciate it! Thanks
Oil pump could be shot, could be your friction bearings (most likely not). I wouldn't keep driving the car because engine damage will result.
Not sure how to explain this in "lamens terms" for you to understand but here goes. The first step in diagnosing oil pressure is to connect a gauge to your oil pressure switch, and consult the helms manual for the proper pressure readings. That procedure is simple but since you indicate you are not mechanically inclined take it to your local mechanic.
Question: who did the oil change?

Thank you all for your responses. It helps give me an Idea as to what's going on and also for trying to explain it in lamens terms. Now it hasnt happend since just that one time.
The place I took it to to get my oil change was at Break Masters

Check the oil pressure switch for leak before moving on. It should be right above the oil filter with a wire going to it. Make sure it plugs all the way in as well.
The easiest step of all is to pull the oil pressure sender connector off of the sender, and make sure there's no oil running out. If any is present, replace the oil pressure sender as it will cause the light to illuminate. That is the easiest route to go before anything. You'll have to cut the rubber boot that's covering the sender open to get to the one pin connector.
I've seen alot of oil sender pouring oil out once the connector is disconnected and causes the light to flicker. That had me thinking that it's a worn out oil pump. But I was wrong.
