Preludes????
i never came across preludes is there any reason why h-series isint as good as b-series? stock h's with vtec make around 200 horsepower and everyone seems to like the b16 which makes around 160 or the gsr making 170. yeah you cant combine an h with a b and i could also see that ludes weigh more but is there anyother reason why h's are so damn cheap? just curious
H-series engines are just as reliable as the b-series, its how you drive and take care of them....and its really up to the person buying the engine what they really want to get whether it be an H-series or b-series. Just like another member on here grilled me for a similar question like yours, he said "Honda and different is an oxymoron. There's NOTHING you can put together that is different. Any engine in good health will last. It's a HONDA!!!" Enough said...truly there is nothing in the Honda scene that hasn't been done yet...
with every year that passes making the K more popular and a bit more attainable the H keeps getting stuck in the middle between the B and K series. personally i think is its lack of good gearing selection stock. having to go h2b to make it even better puts about another grand into it.

The six speed doesn't make it any better, the ratios are just closer together for the little 2.0 torqueless engines. I prefer the gearing in my Prelude to my RSX for highway actually.
My guess is there not as popular. I'm currently deciding to go with a rebuild (h22a4) or a jdm h22a swap... Or possibly a h23. Don't have the knowledge yet to decide. But anyway in my research iv noticed there's about 10 b series engines to 1 h series. Whether it be there's no demand so prices are low or they have a bunch left over due to not as many sales as b series cars. I'd think the rarity would make them more expensive but quality is fine so I don't know why there cheap
But now that I think about it b series were almost the same price if not less. I'm having a hard time finding more than two h series engines per website so there fairly rare. The h23 on the other hand is very cheap for unknown reasons. Ill start a few threads for the h23 and h22a to find out why exactly. after I do a few moar posts haha

thank God for guys like Kaizenspeed and Rosko Racing and i'm sure they're are more that are still R&D'in parts for us guys with H-series...because it seems like most mainstream companies have long forgotten the H-series.
Hey I am happy with it, most guys here don't care to keep H engines around, so I can keep picking up $200 H22 longblocks!
Honestly, there are alot of guys who have really pushed the envelope with the H engines, but we don't hear about most of them in the Prelude forum, since they are Civic guys who keep to the Hybrid/ All-motor/ or Drag Racing forums.
