b16 engine harness problem!!!!!
i originally posted because injectors were not working on a 91 civic w/ b16 ....i found my problem...an electrical wiring nightmare... any way any one knows of exactly the colors that go to the sensors and injectors /resistor box on dx-b16 harness DIAGRAM OR IF YOU CAN POST WHAT COLORS GO WHERE. looks like someone ripped the wires clean out of the harness(sabotage i guess) i got an idea but just want to be sure. THANKS
Dont just go by color. Get a multimeter and check continuity between each injector wire and the ECU pin it's supposed to go to. Then check the connection to the resistor box, then check the resistor box's connection to the ECU. Use the diagram posted above ^.
i had to take the engine harness out( removed intake manifold..etc ).... im undoing the harness and i got pinout online for the shock tower connectors and ill just follow the wires from the pin to the disconnected wires to sensors and injectors... i know some wires from dx/ muliti point conversion are not used, any one know what colors those are???? THANKS FOR THE HELP
sounds to me like you have a DX with DPFI chassis harness and a MPFI engine harness - you should just get a DX DPFI engine harness and start over and do the DPFI to MPFI wiring changes and add the necessary wires for the injectors, cylinder sensor, VTEC and knock sensor - be a lot easier as there are a lot of differences - for instance, the igniter wire on the MPFI cars is in that rectangular 6-pin connector on the passenger side - the DPFI chassis harness doesn't have a connector for this - on the DPFI cars, the igniter wire is in the round 14-wire connector on the driver's side
FYI - the diagram posted above has several errors in it

Elaborate please? That was one of the diagrams I used to do my MPFI swap and my car is running perfectly.
And DO NOT just check at the shock tower. Connect the shock tower plugs like they should be, and check from the injector clips to the ECU. That is the only way to know for sure that the signal is making it from the ECU to the injector. Do the same for the resistor box.

cylinder sensor wires are blue/green and blue/yellow
TDC sensor wires are orange/blue and white/blue
on the DPFI chassis harness: the wires at A1 and A3 are yellow and connect together inside the harness and run as one wire to the auxiliary injector - the wires at A5 and A7 are red and connect together inside the harness and run as one wire to the main injector - you cannot just connect the wires from the 4 injectors to the existing wires at A1, A3, A5 and A7 - you need to cut the wires at A3 and A7 and leave them in the harness not connected to anything - otherwise, you have 2 injectors firing at the same time since the wires are connected together in the harness
