ok, im looking to boost my 91 crx... i have a stock 3rd gend ZC swap in it and don't want to spend a bunch of money if i don't have to. i don't really need it to last me for years and im only going to be driving it durring the summer months, i live in wisconsin. i really would like to stay in the $1000 range. i don't know much at all about boosting so i need to know what i would all need to get... and do i have to convert to obd1? or can i stay obd0? thanks a lot!

 

Don't even give boost another thought if your budget is $1000.

That's the truth. A good kit alone is 1000/2000 bucks, Then upgrading fuel system, getting a tune, right exhaust, and so on. It's expensive to do it right.

 

ok, so a low end turbo kit about $1000. then some big injectors $300-400. cat back exhaust $?. tune $? so probably around $2000 to boost on the low end

 

A turbo kit is about 2k, Then you need fuel pump, fuel injectors, chipped ecu and tune. and a exhaust.

Dont waist your money on ebay turbo kits.

If you don't have to money to do it right don't do it.

If I was going turbo, which I do plan to someday in the distant future, I'd be prepared to drop $4000-$5000 to do it properly.

 

i paid over 2000 dollars just for the turbocharger assembly.
the cost really escalates with nuts and bolts (literally)

 

one thing that no one has said yet is you need to upgrade clutch also. and look on craigslist for turbo kit parts like intercooler and such. piecing it together over time can come out much cheeper than buying a full kit all at once. just be carefull with used things.

 

Yup. People forget about suspension upgrades too.

look for a greedy turbo kit 92-95 civic dsm 450 injectors walbro 255 get a chip ecu pm6 or pm7.
