Default Stock p28 throwing code 30

Hey guys, after spending hours trying find info on this .I resort to asking the gurus of Honda-tech. I bought a stock p28 5 speed ecu, took it home to put in my ej1 which has a d16z6 . The thing is that the car just cranks and does as soon as it try's to turn over and the ecu throws a cel code 30 what is this. When I use my pr4 ls ecu the car turns on and idles perfect. What is wrong with the p28 and how can i fix it?

Open up the ECU and look for burned up components.

I seen three long lights. that means 30 right. I read something about code 30 being connected to a automatic transmission. After doing some more trouble shooting I noticed that my fuel pump is not priming. After talking to a friend he seems to think a capacitor has gone out. Ill be taking it to him after work and let him work his magic..I ll return with results.

I'm trying to figure out whether you may have misread the code. Maybe you have code 3, code 10 (repeats), or code 10 and code 20. We've seen code misreads here many times. Just a thought. A video would resolve this question very quickly.

Actually your right after taking to friend and having him look at the code flash he said it looked like 21 and that's something to do with vtec but I will post a video when I get home to comfort with you. Now I confused because my friend changed the part he thought was causing the problem but to our surprise the we still did hear the fuel pump cut on. So now I'm stumped and pissed that the guy that sold me the ecu wont even give me my money back.
