Icon2 b20b 7800 rpm

hey guys i have a b20b with a gsr tranny the motor is from a auto trans in japn but i was having fun with it so i didnt get it in fourth all the way and it reved all the way to 7800 should be worried this is the third time its happen

you shouldn't get into a habit of it, you should try and keep it under 7500 rpm

as far as your engine being ok, if you don't hear or feel anything different, I wouldn't worry about it

yeah...ive hit 8 grand a few times by accident (keep forgetting i removed the rev limiter, lol), but try to keep it under 6250 which is the stock redline.

Yea I haven't took to 8grand but the motor is pretty strong or are they weak

The motor is strong but there are 'weak' components. spinning the motor that fast most likely you'll float a valve or break a rod bolt. change out the valve springs for dual valve springs and rod bolts for arps and you can spin it to 8k all day.

Stock redline is 6250, keep it below that.

make sure all the parts are balanced and put together properly and good tune and you COULD be good =P

really? b20b and b20z must have a different redline because mine is 6700 or so.
