Hey guys i bought a 2002 civic lx recently and ive been dying to some work on it i want it to be real take it to my local hangouts. i wanted to do an engine swap, tranny, drop it, body kit, HID lights, maybe a sounds system and a turbo. make it perform and look nice. anyways i was wondering if you guys could help me out on what parts to pick; mainly the engine, tranny, turbo, and any other performance upgrades. Your going to have to be more specific so we can point you in the right way. What kind of performance do you want? budget? etc...

Well, bolt-ons aren't going to get you far at all. You still didn't mention a budget, either. You'll want to figure that out before anything. Otherwise... its nearly impossible to give you any sort of direction.

the max im willing to drop would be like 10k and not all at once, as an over time/ project type of thing

That would be enough to support a basic K-swap, some nice interior goodies, and good suspension components. Body kit and turbo are out of the question for sure. Between wikipedia and existing threads both here and other sites... you should have no problem figuring out what kind of K-swap you'd like to go with.

A k20 sounds good but ive also heard about B16 and B18 its deffinetely cheaper but is it a good engine for the money or is a k20 the only way to go for performance

^check your local motor swap legal restrictions first. also take a look at the FAQ's... there's info there.

Did you even attempt to look at the FAQ's? It'll layout why that's not exactly the wisest option.
