CRX Si - stalled and smoking from around exhaust manifold
I bought a CRX Si today and after driving it home 60 or so miles home with zero issues, I leave it to itself for a bit.
Then, I take it out for a spin tonight and after a relatively hard pull onto the freeway, I pull off to turn around. As I'm rolling around a turn, I brake for a red light and the car's engine dies. I turn the key to start and it starts right up, no problem.
Then I pull into a nearby gas station to take a look at it. I open the hood and see smoke rising from the front of the engine (underneath or near the exhaust manifold). I'm not entirely sure if it was smoke or if it was just water vapor as it had been raining. I drove home and babied it and no problems.
Any thoughts as to why it would die inexplicably after freeway speeds?

I would just watch the car far a few days . Keep an eye out . Also If you just bought it check all the fluids to make sure there all topped off. I'm sure low fluid levels did not cause the stall, but check just to make sure everything is full.
I find with old cars there are usually always some freak quirks about them. Hopefully it does not happen again.
Also look for some type of leak(on a dry day) that may have caused the "smoke". Hopefully it was just some steam from water splashing on the exhaust.
Good luck.
