Default Vtec issue causing car not to start?

Hello, so earlier my car was having issues staying on, gas pedal had to be kept down in order to keep the car running. If gas pedal was not applied the car would immediately die. Was assuming possibly a alternator issue since the battery would not hold a charge. Had a mechanic come and check the car and I told him that I was assuming the car was running too rich due to the black crap on my bumper. He assured me the car was running to rich so he did the normal check. He check spark plugs and the tips were black varying on each cylinder. We replaced spark plugs, replaced rotor and rotor cap, he cleaned the fuel injectors by spraying starter fluid and carb cleaner on the injectors. He also checked the timing, boom the car started. So I drove the car to work and when I got off work, I wanted to see if the Vtec* would work (Never worked since motor was put in). After I engaged in vtec seeing that it still didn't the car started to bog and I was worried the issue would have brought back, so I put the car in neutral to see if it would die immediately and no. As I drove a little bit more the car began to misfire and bog a lot and when I hit a red light exiting the freeway I died. Issue had been brought back again. So I had to apply pressure on the gas pedal to finish the ride home. I'm mind bottled because I was told by the mechanic who installed motor that with Stage 2 BLOX cams I could not run Vtec with a Cat and my current exhaust. He said I'd have to straightpipe in order for vtec to engage because we pulled off the cat and exhaust and ran straight headers for a test in order to see if the vtec ran without it, and it did run how it was suppose to but extra loud haha. So I'm curious if I should just put stock type r cams back in because I want to have a cat and exhaust to make it not loud and legal. I'm also curious is if the vtec engaging once is confusing the computer and is trying to compensate for the bogging. I did reset the computer by unplugging the negative terminal and the ECU fuse and that didn't help. Right now the car will start just enough for me to step on the gas but when I try to start it later in a few days eventually the starter will click and nothing more. Please let me know if this is enough information. Thanks and much help would be appreciated ASAP as this is my only way of transportation to work. The car was not running for about 1 1/2weeks prior.

Vtec will engage no matter if you have a cat or not. YES your Type R cams are better than almost any cam, unless your putting out big numbers with a turbo. What ECU are you running, What year, make is the car? Auto or 5-speed? is your check engine light on? Do you have an 02 sensor?

I understand the Vtec will always engage, but will the cat always throttle it? Cause I purchased a magnaflow high flowing cat and it still slows down when vtec engages, but what is causing my car to run like **** recently and fail to start? I'm pretty sure it has a 02 sensor but the cel never goes on but i check by putting the car on, on and it turns on blinks twice or three times and turns off. Also the question was if I should just buy type r cams and switch the blox out because I don't want to have to buy a special cat and exhaust for cams in order for vtec to run properly. I'm assuming because the car throttles at vtec that it is causing the computer to go crazy because it is trying to compensate for the slow down in speed and the fuel ratio. The car is a 95 acura integra RS 4dr manual with a b18cr 96 spec motor.

Just trying to get the car running again mostly. Vtec isnt important but should be addressed as well. Just looking for directions to fix this issue causing the car to not start again.

What ecu are you running?

So your car is not tuned? Do you have supporting valve train for the blox stg 2 cams?
Cams degreed in?

IMO put your stock cams in, stock ecu and call it a day. If you don't know what your doing you shouldn't be digging around and then asking why your car runs like crap.

You'll get the best response in the NA part of them forum,
You don't own a type r/ nor working on one.

Which ecu would be stock for this motor? I'm not sure what I have since don't have access to it at the moment. Also for a tune up, where's a good place to get that done? I'm in San Diego area.

You need a chipped obd1 p72 with a ITR base map.
There are some vendors that sell them here on HT or ebay

you need to get it tuned. you cant throw in bigger cams and expect everything to work. Get cam gears and go to a good tuner that specializes in honda's.
