EK9 weird idle/start up issues
gday ladies and gents! hope we are all well!
car in question is a JDM EK9 1999 CW facelift OBD2B
for the last few months, i've been having some issues with cold start,
let's say park it up at night and start it up in the morning for work, i'd need to crank the car for at least 3-5 seconds before it starts (after that all runs and drives well)
another issue is when the car is warm and hot, sometimes the idle would just drop very low causing the car to be very rough (around about 400-500RPM) this has baffled me as i've never ever bumped into these kind of scenarios before!
yesterday after a visit to my friends place, i tried to start the car ( was about 4-5 in the afternoon, about 28 degrees and the car was off for for about an hour) and it took 3 complete cranks until the car started(meaning i started it the first time it failed, same with the second) and thirdly it started but sat at around 400-500 RPM and idled rough(with a stench of rich fuel smell)
thing's i've done rescently to try and rectify the problemo:
-new spark plugs
-new spark plug leads
-new distributor (non OEM)
-new timing belt and water pump
-valve lash adjusted (.007 on intake and exhaust)
- reset the ECU a hundred times (disconnected the plugs from ECU itself)
currently, there are NO ECU CODES showing which makes the diagnotics abit more hard
so i hope someone can help me out here! been having this car headache for a few weeks!
