95 passport tech needed!
I just purchased a 1995 isuzu 4x4. Same platform as a 1995 Rodeo or a Honda Passport. I need some help with the 4x4 assembly and axle.
I tore a cv joint. Both inners are torn. I need to replace. I call for replacment and I am asked if it is a inboard or outboard joint.
I dont know what it is and do not want to order something I cant use. The truck has manual locking 4x4. Can anyone help? Thanks

When you say you tore a CV joint, do you mean the boot?
Inner = inboard, outer = outboard. Should be pretty apparent.
If it's just the boot, get both inner and outer boots and replace them all, otherwise you'll be there again when the outers tare.

Thanks- I called for replacment and they are asking for inboard our outboard
It Obvious I would like the whole thing. I dont know what they would provide me with thats all. I was not sure what is what.
It sounds like I have to do alot of work anway with rebuilding

If just the boots are torn and the axles are not making clicking noises, which is likely if it's just the inner boots, you can just change the boots and be good. No rebuilding necessary. It can be a hassle to remove the axles though.
I got the axles out and they are a PITA.
Most HONDA or other style axles are held in with a clip. We all know they can be pried out.
This truck and other rodeo passoorts are the only ones which have snap rings which need to be removed completely before it comes out. 2 on driver side. Also it is alot of work,
I planned on just slapping a new boot on. It turned into alot more. IF I would have known to slice the boot off and band and to put the new one on I would have. I even have a spare rebuild kit around. That was my whole intention. When It came time to order axle it was unclear to me what was what. It became a hassle.
I turned to EBAY and got the whole assembly for CHEAP AS DIRT shipped. Called verified it is correct so no BS when it comes. I can care less about core charges at this point. (called local part stors and they told me I am looking at 150+ and its like what the F?) Like mention I pick parts up off ebay for super cheap. I know that this truck is not acceptable with 2 torn boots. Thats what I am hot to replace them.
Kchung thanks for your input.

While I am here on the topic, I have no heat in truck, I test 12v and nothing at wires.
Replaced fuses and swapped out relays nothing. Tested here and there. No luck
End up putting 12v to the blower motor and it does work, however no power to the 2 wires. Now thing is I test fuse sites. for 12v ignition on. Some have power others dont.
Next I remove fuse box and take apart. I notice a black wire with a silver dot I think which is melted out. Exposed copper and corroded patina. Not sure what it even goes to. I need to figure out how to get the heat or blower working again.
