Rear disk brakes on a awd crv?
My buddy had a 98 awd and wants to put disk brakes on the rear. Is there a setup that will work? Any stock crv's with rear disks? A combo of parts that will work? Any help is appreciated.
any rear calipers will work since you have to make a bracket for them. prelude or rsx rear rotors have same hole pattern as crv
i got a set off a 97-01 prelude at the local junk yard for cheap. be sure to get the ebrake cables as well though.

I mentioned ITR since the CR-V front calipers are the same as ITR, using ITR rear calipers wont throw off your brake bias.
The biggest problem you're going to run into is:
A. Finding ITR calipers for a reasonable price (EP3 are basically the same IIRC but the bleeder will be upside down so they need to be bleed unbolted from the trailing arm)
B. Parking brake cables. I'm not sure if Civic or Integra parking brake cables will fit.

prelude ebrake cables work, hence why i mentioned them. the caliper itself isnt the only thing that will change the bias, the rotor can too. a bigger rotor will shift more bias to the rear when using the same caliper.
you can even use odyssey/pilot rear rotors which are pretty good size and are 5 lug.

prelude rear disc worked before but as said, fabricated brackets for the caliper.....

** any rear disc set will work, but its up for you how to mount and make the brackets for
the caliper, we tackled around this issue a year ago but i never got a chance to fully work
on to it... to much time for me alone to tackle coz i dont have my fabricator around...
now im looking into the 2nd gen crv's rear disc kit since theres a lot on the salvage yard and
sourcing out for parts wont be that hard... good luck on those who'll try to make thism keep us posted!!!
