Exhaust setup idea opinions please?
I have 97 accord f22b2 think I'm gonna get cheap ebay intake replace filter with spectre then put Megan header magnaflow or walker cat increase to 2.25 pipe and replace resonator with flowtech or thrush glasspack followed by dynomax race bullet and 2.25-2.5 maybe3" tip, question is does anybody have a similar setup? How do you think it will sound? Nice and deep or nasty ricer?
Alright, let me see if I can apply some experience here.
You said nothing about a catalytic convertor, so I am assuming it will be removed.
If you plan for a header, glass pack (why?), then a race bullet, it will be loud. My real question is are you looking for performance gains or a change in sound?
When I was younger, I didn't mind a car so loud that I couldn't have a conversation while driving down the road. My music was usually louder. Now, with a wide and kids, I like some some peace and quiet.
As soon as you slap a full exhaust ( the one you described) on the car, you notice a loss in torque, but better top end. However, this notice in power at the top will be only in wide open throttle. Not partial throttle loads while driving around town. And Honda engines need all the torque down low they can get, in my opinion.
My suggestion, do a little at a time. Start with a cat back. Either make one or buy a prefab unit. It will change the exhaust note considerably. It will also keep some of the low end torque. I wouldn't add a header or mid pipe until you made changes where the engine will need to breathe that extra bit, like raising compression or adding a cam. A header will add power, but most if its gains will be seen above 5k. That means you just won't feel it in a majority of your driving.

If your looking for something quiet but sounds good than a WS2 would sound nice, price is kinda steep on those though. Their Cat backs give nice flow and don't sound ricey. And if you get a header I would recomend one with a 2.5" collector.
I mentioned the catalytic converter, just typed cat since its shorter, but I'm looking for perfomance and a little sound, don't want it so loud it will wake the neighborhood, also getting header because my entire exhaust is rusted and time to update appreciate the advice so far, more opinions are welcomed
I have Megan 4-2-1 Headers, to a DNA motoring high flow cat, 2 1/2" custom piping, to a Megan M-GT muffler. Its loud (obviously) but I do feel small gains at top end, it feels more snappy as well. But what jabontke said, basically its just going to make it louder. When I bought my Accord the "Exhaust" was a few chunks of rust that flaked off onto my driveway so I decided to go aftermarket over a brand new stock setup. My 2c.

Megan is decent, but there is better stuff you can get for less money. The only Megan racing parts I would use is suspension accessories such as an H brace, Strut tower support, blah blah blah, But would never use it for the actual suspension.... thats a no no in my book.
sorry I got a little off topic. Try it, But Megan makes mostly buzzy sounding things.
Try finding a can from a 07-08 to put on it with that header. It will sounds gooooooooooooood

How do you know this? You just posted in the tech forum that you didn't know what you were doing and asked about solutions to a buzzing exhaust. take your own advice maybe?
plus Im trying to get my post in so I can get out of this trial mess. Dont hate.
I like my setup, it is a little more on the raspy side although it has a fairly low tone. I have had all good results with Megan's stuff, they have a good overall reputation and they use good materials. I have Megan Coilovers, Exhaust (Obviously), and a few other small parts. I have to wait till Wednesday, I have a rad mishi radiator in the mail and then I will post a video.
