summit racing sells a couple of kits....make sure you get the one with the sealed box and ventilation tube...you wont pass tech at any kind of sanctioned events without it, not to mention personal safety. Standard car batteries give off gas or someshit that is not good for human consumption, hence the sealed box and vent tube. I think the kits are like $100 but dont quote me on that.

Summit sells a Blue Moroso one that comes with all the cables and everything.

What about a dry-cell battery like the DynaBat? Do those still have to be in an enclosure?

a brought this up in a similar discussion a long time ago....I seem to recall that most ruling bodies require the sealed box for any type of battery, and also even though optima's, etc are 'sealed' there is still a chance some leakage of some shape or form. so the box would be a good idea no matter what type of battery your using.

There was a thread a while ago where a couple of us talked about making our own relocation kit. It seems like for the price of the Moroso, you could buy all the materials and build a really nice one, assuming you have the facilities.

I know I haven't had the time or money to do mine yet, but some day...

Being that the battery is against the firewall, and pretty small, I dont think it will be that drastic of a change. I know they make light weight batteries which might be a better option.

I was using a drycell battery from the bigger Harley motorcyles. It had enought cold crank amps to turn the car on and all accesories and voltage read the same as my big o'l honker battery.

And the battery was only 10.8 lbs.

So there is not really a need for relocation unless you want to keep the big battery
