Hey guys I read the sticky on how to pull and scan codes for civics. However, when my engine is off I can't seem to pull any and the CEL isn't on. When I tried doing it while the engine was running the CEL seems to remain on does that mean that my ECU is bad?

 

Pull the CEL codes while the engine is running. Constant CEL is an indicator that the ECU may be bad.

 

Yup did that, and the CEL remains on while i tried jumping it with the paper clip.

 

Do you have a spare ECU?

 

i had the same problem.when i ran a test it would blink one long blink and just keep going .but some one told me if its one long blink and keeps going its that one code just repeating itself.

 

He didn't say it was blinking.

I don't know what you mean buy a spare ECU? sorry I don't know much about mechanics but today when I went to fill up my tank because it was on empty the CEL disappeared. I know that the CEL still works because when I turn it into the On position the light comes up for 2 seconds and disappears. Has anyone ever had any problems like this? maybe their was something lose perhaps :S I did run into a couple of pot holes lol once again i'm not wizz at cars sorry xD
