dynamat. also you could fill the empty areas between the unibody and the outer panels with foam.

Good luck with that. These cars are not known for their quiet interiors to start with. You can soundproof some but be prepared for a major project.

Google how to soundproof my car.

Sound deadening. Rammet(SP) is recommended by a few people I know.
Dynamat is great, but quite expensive.

Get ready for a major project. You'll need to gut the car.

No reason to buy Dynamat when you can get the exact same thing, minus the name brand, for a quarter the price at your local hardware store. How quiet you can make your car purely depends on how much work you're willing to put into it. Sound deadening material under the carpet and roof line is easy. Deadening foam in the door panels is a little harder, but gets you one step closer. Rubber o rings under every nut and bolt is the next step, and is a bit time intensive. Removing the engine to sound deaden the bay is the final step, with the most effort, and the greatest reward.

You can use Peel & Seal in place of Dynamat for a less expensive route. Can buy it at Lowe's or roofing supply stores in 4" or 6" width sizes.

Exactly why not visit a muffler shop and see what they have available to quiet down the exhaust and make it more bearable.
Why tear apart your car and put all that mat crap everywhere.

IDK kind of an obvious place to start when your car is noisy...
intake and exhaust. both make noise.

if your ride is loud on the highway, its either road noise from type of road and/or tire tread choice.

If you want a luxury car type of environment, buy a luxury car.

Fill your quarter panels with polyfill and use dynamat or second skin deatner. There is a huge difference between peel n seal and dynamat. Dynamat the floor you will notice a huge difference.

Great tips! I had an "Ah-HA!" Moment when you mentioned the rubber O-rings under every bolt. Ever since I retrofitted GSR leathers into my Civic its created this annoying squeak. I've checked all the bolts and its snug and tight, but the rubber O-rings should do the trick.

Do I just buy some at Home Depot?

Check the seat back itself.
You might be hearing that squeek and think its the seat mount bolts when it very well could be the seat back.
I have had some RSX seats make an annoying squeek and it turned out to be the back was a little loose.

Good call, and that may be the case. I'll check that too. Thanks for the tip!

Sound deadening is done in two to three steps. The most popular, Dynamat (butyl rubber/CLD tiles), is just step one and it only eliminates the rattles.

Do you have any evidence of that, or is it just "because you said so"? I've used both, and for the price difference, two layers of generic cheap stuff will work just as well as Dynamat, and still be cheaper.

Yeah, you can just get rubber o rings at any hardware store. Like dirty said though, check the full seat for squeaks too.

Whatever you do please document it with pictures and what did or didn't make a difference and make a write up to help others in the future with this question.
