Hey,
Like upteen million years ago I replaced my OEM shifter with a B&M dual bend with ES PE bushings.
I have no done any maintenance to the shifter, and at the present time it's near impossible to shift correctly because the bushings are beyond completely bound up and dead.
So I was ignoring the problem for awhile because I was driving my other car, but now that I'm moving all of my stuff cross-country, I need to drive the civic on this 2800mile journey, and the shifter isn't ready for that.
So I was looking at OEM bushings and ES PE replacement bushings. I can't quite recall how it went together at the bottom (left/right tilt motion) of the shifter (the cylinder). I remember that bar went through the cylinder with 4 o-rings on it, and then a bolt/nut went through that on either side of the exchange linkage receiver.
What goes between the cylinder ends and the linkage receiver? I believe when I put the B&M kit in it had a bunch of O rings so I stuffed some fat O-rings on either side...this was a pain in the neck because the bar barely sticks out on either side of the shifter cylinder.
So I was thinking that I may go OEM rubber instead of PE because it'll last longer (and cost about the same), so I looked up a diagram, and it says a washer goes between the cylinder and the receiver, on the bar.

Reference:
The bar I'm speaking of is #11
The receiver is the 'fork' by #21
The "cylinder" is the lowest part of the shifter
The o-rings I put on are where #4 is, but it says that's a thrust washer, I don't remember a washer, nor what the OEM setup looked like.
Then lastly, #5, that bushing joint, I don't even faintly recall seeing that, but I'll just assume it's in there O.o. That part doesn't come with most PE bushing kits, if I'm not mistaken, correct? Typically it's only the bushing that goes against the chassis (#16) and the piece by the trans (#14).
Sorry there's so many scattered questions throughout this post. Thx in advance!
