Default Short shifter slop

My 01 Ls trans has a lot of slop. Can anyone help me out with why that could be. OEM shifter bushings won't fit so I'm out of ideas. Any help would be great. Has short shifter.

The bolt that goes through the u joint does move up and down even with the washers and stuff.

If the u joint isn't tight then you need to repair or replace the shifter linkage. I made a thread about, click on my name, statistics, threads started by hondur "proper shift linkage remanufacturing"

Not sure. It was on the car when I got it. I'm going to go try and find a new linkage at a pull apart or something.

Thank you for that. Probably going to try and find a linkage at a pull apart. Any websites you know that sell them?
