My car developed a squeaking recently
It occurs when you turn the wheel and sometimes if there is suspension travel
It is only the right side , I crawled under and I could see some of the rubber
Cracked and missing around the lower ball joint , is my ball joint on the brink if snapping?
I sprayed some silicone lube on it and it quieted down "some"
But it's def still there, Suggestions?

Yup replace ball joints. Id replace upper and lower on both sides

squeaking=friction=ball joint dry and probably getting hot=breaks while driving=accident=big $$$ repairs

is this terribly hard to do or should I just pay a shop

the uppers you can replace the whole arm so it just bolts in. but the lowers are pressed into the spindle so if you don't have a balljoint press you might want to take it to a shop . but you can rent them at most parts stores
