So I pulled my engine (d17a1) out of my civic yesterday and like I imagined there was a hole in the block and a blown rod. Am I able to save the other three rods and pistons? If so how much could I sell them for? I just need some money to help pay for the new engine/block.

 

I don't imagine you'll get much of anything for them, especially coming from a blown motor which likely has quite a few miles on it. Best off selling the whole engine for parts than trying to sell pieces of it.

If the rod snapped and windowed the block odds are that almost everything on the block is unusable and probably all of the moving parts in the head. What was the cause of failure?
